Routeens

Support

Routeens plans your week of places and routes on iPhone. Answers to the common questions are below. Anything else: [email protected].

Getting started

What is the sample week?

On first launch Routeens loads a sample week so every screen has something to show. Tap "Set my Home" in the banner to replace the sample Home with yours, or choose "Start from scratch" from the banner's close button to clear it.

How do I add a place to a day?

On the Places tab, tap the "+ Mon" button on a place (it names whichever day is selected on the Plan tab). Or on the Plan tab, tap "Add stop" and pick a place. Set how long you stay, and Routeens times the rest of the day.

Can Routeens order my stops for me?

Yes. On the Plan tab, open Options and choose "Optimize order". Rush-hour traffic is on by default so the times match the roads at the hour you leave.

Syncing between iPhones

How does sync work?

Routeens uses your own iCloud account. Sign both iPhones into the same Apple ID with iCloud Drive turned on, and your places and week appear on both. The More tab shows the sync status; "Synced" means the last change was written and read back from iCloud.

The More tab says iCloud is off.

Tap the row to open Settings, then turn on iCloud Drive for your Apple ID. Routeens keeps working without iCloud; it just stays on the one iPhone.

Backups

How do I back up or move my data?

More → Export backup saves a JSON file with your places and week. On another iPhone, More → Import backup lets you merge it into what is there or replace everything.

Reminders and widgets

How do leave-time reminders work?

Plan → Options → "Remind me to leave" sets a notification for that day. More → Reminders turns them on for every day at once. iPhone will ask for notification permission the first time.

Where are the widgets?

Long-press your home screen, tap the add button, and search for Routeens. The widget shows today's stops and back-home time.

Weather

What is the rain chip?

When there is a 50% or higher chance of rain at a stop's arrival time, a small rain chip appears next to that stop. The forecast comes from Apple Weather for the area around your Home and covers the next ten days.

Sharing a day

How do I share a day with someone?

Plan → Options → "Share day" creates a link. Anyone with Routeens who opens it can add that day, with its stops, to their own week.

I opened a shared link and nothing happened.

Shared links open in the Routeens app. If you don't have it yet, request a beta invite from the home page and open the link again once the app is installed.

Your data

How do I delete everything?

Delete the app to remove it from your iPhone. To remove the iCloud copy too, open Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Storage → Routeens → Delete.

Does Routeens collect anything?

No. There is no account, no analytics, and no server of ours. The privacy policy has the details.
